Coaching & Development

Welcome to the Coaching & Development Area

I am delighted that the club is offering coaching and coaching development for club members. There are some stalwarts in the club with experience and knowledge who we can call on throughout the year to offer guidance and advice. We are fortunate to have set discipline specialists and triathlon specific coaches who are keen to offer free coaching to members.

If you`re not a member of the British Triathlon Federation I would encourage you to do so, not just for the reduced cost of events and insurance cover when training and competing but also for access to coaching information, downloads etc. Just go to www.britishtriathlon.org

As you know the club is keen on helping anyone interested at whatever level, if we don`t have the knowledge we can research for you and find someone who does.

Swim tips - focus on long pull from entry to hand out mid thigh. Think streamline and reduce drag.
Bike tips - pull up as well as pushing down and keep upper body still, arms relaxed and chest open.
Run tips - think tall and light, tilt pelvis forward and shoulders back, look forward not down.

Open water swim - make sure you ask for help, swim with someone else,  ask for best sighting marks.
