Wakefield British National Champs 08

In atrocious conditions, Britain's top amateur triathletes battled through wind and rain in Wakefield at the Mazda British Triathlon Age Group Championships.

With national honours up for grabs competition was tough, especially for those who were targeting the event as a qualifier for the 2009 European Triathlon Championships.

Andy Tarry came out on top in the men's overall standings, rounding off an impressive display with a 34:32 10km run split. Lou Collins won the women's overall competition following a storming 40km cycle leg of 1:13:47.
